Author Guidelines
Authors are required to submit manuscripts through the online submission system of the Journal of Digital Transformation, Computing, and Intelligence (GITCOIN) by registering as an author on the official journal website: https://ojs.bakrie.ac.id/index.php/GITCOIN/user/register.
All submitted manuscripts must comply with the author guidelines, manuscript template, and publication ethics of GITCOIN. The official manuscript template can be downloaded from the Paper Template page: https://ojs.bakrie.ac.id/index.php/GITCOIN/article-template.
GITCOIN accepts manuscripts written in Indonesian or English. Authors must ensure consistency in language throughout the manuscript. Manuscripts written in Indonesian should use formal academic Indonesian, while manuscripts written in English should use clear academic English.
Instructions for the Author of Journal of Digital Transformation, Computing, and Intelligence (GITCOIN)
A. General Requirements
The minimum standard requirements of GITCOIN must be as follows:
- The manuscript may be written in Indonesian or English.
- The manuscript must be prepared using the official GITCOIN manuscript template.
- The submitted file must be in Microsoft Word document format .docx.
- The manuscript must follow the formatting style provided in the official template, including paper size, margins, font type, font size, spacing, heading style, figure style, table style, and reference style.
- The manuscript should not exceed the maximum length specified in the official template.
- The title, author names, affiliations, author emails, abstract, and keywords must be written according to the format provided in the template.
- The manuscript must be original, must not have been previously published, and must not be under consideration for publication in another journal, conference, or publisher.
- The manuscript must contain relevant and up-to-date references from reputable sources, such as scientific journal articles, conference proceedings, books, or other scholarly publications.
- The manuscript must follow the IEEE citation and reference style.
- Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or other similar tools.
- Authors are encouraged to include a minimum of 20 references, where applicable. At least 80% of the references should come from scientific journal articles, and the majority of references should be published within the last 10 years.
- All figures, tables, equations, algorithms, and other manuscript elements must be numbered and cited properly in the text.
- Authors must ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, and other forms of academic misconduct.
- The maximum similarity index allowed for manuscripts submitted to GITCOIN is 20%, based on the similarity checking result conducted using Turnitin.
- Manuscripts that do not comply with these requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected before the review process.
B. Structure of the Manuscript
The manuscript must be prepared and is suggested to follow the structure below:
- Title
The title should clearly describe the focus, method, model, object, or objective of the study. The title must be concise, specific, informative, and should avoid uncommon acronyms or abbreviations. - Author Names and Affiliations
Author names should be written without academic titles or professional positions. Each author must be followed by a superscript number indicating the affiliation. The corresponding author should be marked with an asterisk (*).
Author affiliations should be written below the author names and grouped according to the corresponding superscript number. The email address of the corresponding author and other authors should be provided under the affiliation information. - Abstract
The abstract should provide a concise summary of the entire study and should be understandable without referring to the full paper. The abstract should briefly include the research background, objective, method, main findings, and conclusion or implication of the study.
The abstract should consist of 150 to 250 words. Citations, tables, figures, and references should not be included in the abstract. Abbreviations or technical terms should be defined when first introduced. - Keywords
Keywords should consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of five words or phrases that represent the main topic of the manuscript. Keywords should be separated by commas and should avoid overly general terms. - Introduction
The introduction should contain the background of the study, research problem, previous related studies, state of the art, research gap, objective of the study, justification of the proposed study, and contribution of the paper. The research objective should be stated clearly at the end of the introduction. - Research Method
The research method section should describe the research design, data or dataset, data collection technique, research procedure, system design, model, algorithm, tools, testing method, evaluation method, or analysis technique used in the study.
The method should be described clearly so that readers can understand and reproduce the research where possible. - Results and Discussion
The results and discussion section should present the findings of the research clearly and systematically. Results may be presented in the form of text, tables, figures, charts, screenshots, or other appropriate forms.
The discussion should explain the meaning and significance of the findings, compare the results with previous studies, identify limitations or weaknesses of the study, and describe the implications of the findings. - Conclusion
The conclusion should answer the research objective and summarize the main findings of the study. The conclusion may also include the contribution of the study, practical or theoretical implications, limitations, and suggestions for future work.
New data, new discussion, or new references should not be introduced in this section. - Data Availability Statement
This section should explain the availability of data, datasets, source code, or other supporting materials used in the study.
Authors are encouraged to deposit datasets, code, or supporting materials in a publicly accessible repository whenever possible. If the data are publicly available, the repository name, persistent identifier such as DOI, and access link should be provided.
If the data cannot be made publicly available due to privacy, confidentiality, legal, institutional, or ethical restrictions, authors should clearly state the reason. In such cases, authors may state that the data are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request, subject to applicable regulations and permissions. - Acknowledgments and AI Use Disclosure
This section may include acknowledgments to individuals, institutions, funding bodies, or other parties that contributed to the completion of the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship. If there are no acknowledgments to declare, the acknowledgment statement may be omitted.
Authors are required to declare the use or non-use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of the manuscript. If AI tools were not used, authors must include a statement that the manuscript was prepared without the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies. If AI tools were used, authors must clearly state the name of the tool, the specific purpose of use, and confirm that all AI-assisted content has been reviewed, verified, and edited by the authors.
AI tools cannot be listed as authors. The authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, integrity, and scientific content of the manuscript.
Example statements:- If AI tools were not used:
"The authors declare that no generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used in the preparation of this manuscript." - If AI tools were used:
"The authors declare that [name of AI tool] was used in the preparation of this manuscript for [specific purpose, e.g., language editing, translation assistance, formatting, reference organization, code support, or data analysis support]. All AI-assisted content has been reviewed, verified, and edited by the authors, who remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, and integrity of the manuscript."
- If AI tools were not used:
- Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, personal, institutional, academic, or other relationships that may influence or be perceived to influence the research, interpretation of results, or publication of the manuscript.
If there is no conflict of interest, authors should state: "The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this paper." - References
The reference list must follow the IEEE citation style. Each reference entry should contain complete bibliographic information whenever available, including DOI.
Authors are encouraged to include a minimum of 20 references, where applicable. At least 80% of the references should originate from scientific journal articles. The majority of references should be drawn from publications within the last 10 years to ensure relevance and timeliness.
All references cited in the text must be listed in the reference section, and all references listed in the reference section must be cited in the text.
C. Revision of Manuscripts
Manuscripts returned to the authors for revision must be revised and resubmitted within the period specified by the editorial team.
Revised manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system. Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to the reviewers’ comments and editorial recommendations.
When submitting a revised manuscript, authors should provide:
- The revised manuscript.
- A response letter explaining how each reviewer's comment has been addressed.
- A clear explanation if certain comments cannot be followed, supported by appropriate academic or methodological reasons.
Revised manuscripts returned after the specified revision period may be considered as new submissions. The editor may send the revised manuscript back to the reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
D. Withdrawal, Correction, and Retraction Policy
Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript during the review or publication process must submit a formal withdrawal request to the editorial team with a clear reason.
If an error or inaccuracy is found in a published article, the authors are responsible for cooperating with the editor to provide corrections, clarifications, or retractions when necessary.
GITCOIN reserves the right to issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions in accordance with publication ethics and editorial policies when serious errors, ethical violations, or academic misconduct are identified.
