Publication Ethics

JICEE is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity at every stage of the editorial process, in line with the principles promoted by internationally recognized bodies such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Responsibilities of Authors. Authors must submit only original work that has not been previously published and is not under simultaneous consideration elsewhere. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of data and findings, for properly citing the work of others, for disclosing any conflicts of interest, and for ensuring that all listed authors have made a genuine contribution to the research and have approved the final manuscript.

Responsibilities of Reviewers. Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, disclose any conflicts of interest that could bias their assessment, maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts under review, and decline review invitations for manuscripts outside their area of expertise.

Responsibilities of Editors. Editors are responsible for making fair, unbiased decisions about manuscript acceptance based solely on scientific merit, for maintaining the confidentiality of submitted work, and for taking appropriate action — including correction, retraction, or rejection — when ethical concerns such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or undisclosed conflicts of interest are identified.

Handling of Misconduct. Allegations of research misconduct, including data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, or plagiarism, are investigated by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Editorial Board. Confirmed misconduct may result in manuscript rejection, retraction of a published article, formal correction notices, or notification to the author's home institution, depending on the severity of the case.
