Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to JICEE undergo a structured, double-blind peer-review process intended to ensure that published research meets a consistent standard of scientific validity, originality, and methodological rigor.
- Initial Editorial Screening. Upon submission, the Managing Editor and relevant Section Editor review the manuscript for fit with JICEE's aims and scope, basic formatting compliance with the article template, and an initial plagiarism check. Manuscripts that fall outside the journal's scope or fail to meet minimum submission requirements may be desk-rejected at this stage.
- Reviewer Assignment. Manuscripts that pass initial screening are assigned to at least two qualified reviewers from JICEE's national and international peer reviewer network, selected for subject-matter expertise relevant to the manuscript's field within Industrial Process Technology, Infrastructure Engineering Technology, or Environmental Technology.
- Single-Blind Review. Reviewer identities are withheld from the authors throughout the review process, while the reviewers are aware of the authors' identities. This method is employed to support an impartial and objective assessment of the manuscript's scientific merit without revealing the reviewers to the authors.
- Editorial Decision. Based on reviewer recommendations, the Section Editor and Editor-in-Chief issue one of the following decisions: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. Authors of manuscripts requiring revision receive consolidated reviewer feedback and a deadline for resubmission.
-
Final Decision and Production. Once a revised manuscript satisfactorily addresses reviewer comments, the Editor-in-Chief issues a final acceptance decision, after which the manuscript proceeds to copyediting, layout, and scheduling for an upcoming issue.
Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts based solely on scientific merit, free from personal or institutional bias, and to treat all manuscripts as confidential documents throughout the review process.
